L-Citrulline-Dl-Malate also known as L-Citrulline Malate, is a compound consisting of Citrulline, a nonessential amino acid that is primarily found in melons, and malate, an apple derivative. Citrulline bound to malate, an organic salt of malic acid, an intermediate in the citric acid cycle. It is the most researched form of citrulline, and there is speculation about an independent role of malate in producing performance benefits.
As a supplement, L-Citrulline is usually described in the context of the supplement that it compliments, L- Arginine. As a supplement the role of L-Citrulline is relatively simple. L-Citrulline is meant to be converted into L-Arginine by the body. The addition of L-Citrulline allows for there to be a greater amount of unabsorbed L-Arginine once this amino acid passes through the digestive system. L-Citrulline and L-Arginine work together to create synergy.

L-citrulline and DL malic acid are two common chemical substances.
Firstly, L-citrulline is a non essential amino acid that plays an important physiological role in the human body and is one of the components of proteins. Therefore, it is often used in the pharmaceutical and health supplement industries to prepare protein nutritional supplements. Meanwhile, L-citrulline is also used to improve muscle fatigue and promote muscle growth, thus it has certain applications in sports nutrition products. L-citrulline can also be used in cosmetics and personal care products due to its moisturizing and antioxidant properties.
DL malic acid is an organic acid commonly used as a food additive, with functions such as seasoning, preservation, and enhancing product taste. In addition, DL malic acid is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as an acidity regulator and pharmaceutical ingredient.
