Product Description

 

Ergothioneine (2-mercaptohistidine trimethylendolide, L-Ergothioneine, EGT) is the only known natural 2-thioimidazole amino acid (2-thioimidazole). EGT has an absorption wavelength similar to DNA in the UV absorption range, which can effectively protect against UV damage. EGT has a strong antioxidant capacity and can inhibit the formation of various oxidation active substances. In addition, EGT is chemically stable, can accumulate in the epidermal cells of the skin belly and is non-toxic.

Chemical Formula: C9H15N3O2S. A naturally occurring sulfur-containing amino acid derivative with a unique cyclic thiol-histidine structure.

Stability: Resistant to high temperatures (>100°C) and UV radiation, with stronger antioxidant activity compared to glutathione (GSH) and vitamin C. Remains stable across physiological pH ranges, resisting oxidation or degradation.

Solubility: Highly water-soluble, making it suitable for aqueous formulations (e.g., skincare serums, injectables).

2. Ergosulfan is a highly protective natural antioxidant that is not easily oxidized in water, which triggers the natural antioxidant defense system of cells in certain tissues.
3. Add to cosmetics as a skin protector
Ergot sulfur can minimize the formation of reactive oxygen species and protect cells from damage. Therefore, ergot sulfur can be added as a skin protector to certain cosmetics for the development of outdoor skincare products and protective cosmetics.
