Cefuroxime sodium is a semi-synthetic second generation cephalosporin, inhibits cell division and growth by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs) on bacterial cell membranes, leading to bacterial lysis and death. Cefuroxime has a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity and can be used for respiratory tract infections, ear, nose and throat infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gonorrhea, including sepsis and other infections of the meninges caused by sensitive bacteria.
1. Respiratory tract infections: acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis complicated with infection, bacterial pneumonia, lung abscess and postoperative thoracic infection.
2. ENT infection: sinusitis, tonsillitis, pharyngitis.
3. Urinary tract infection: acute and chronic pyelonephritis, cystitis and asymptomatic bacteriuria.
4. Skin and soft tissue infections: cellulitis, erysipelas, peritonitis, and traumatic infections.
5. Bone and joint infections: osteomyelitis and septic arthritis.
6. Obstetrics and gynecological infections: pelvic inflammatory disease.
7. Gonorrhea: especially suitable for those who should not be treated with penicillin.
8. Other infections: including sepsis and meningitis; abdominal pelvic and orthopedic surgery; heart, lung, esophagus and vascular surgery; prevention of infection during total joint replacement surgery.
1. Lower respiratory tract infection: such as acute bronchitis and acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis and pneumonia.
2. Upper respiratory tract infection: including ear, nose, throat infections, such as otitis media, sinusitis, tonsillitis and pharyngitis.
3. Genitourinary infections: such as pyelonephritis, cystitis and urethritis.
4. skin and soft tissue infections: such as furunculosis, pyoderma and impetigo. Treatment of adults and early Lyme disease in children over 12 years of age, and subsequent prevention of late Lyme disease.
5. Gonorrhea: acute without complications of Neisseria gonorrhoeae urethritis and cervicitis.
