Sulfadimidine usually bactericidal against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative micro-organisms, like Corynebacterium, E.coli, Fusobacterium necrophorum, Pasteurella, Salmonella and Streptococcus spp. Sulfadimidine affect bacterial purine synthesis, as a result of which a blockade is accomplished.
